  • its been exactly two months since Andy's death now.   and there honestly isnt a day that goes by now that i dont think of him.  and in light of the new year, and before the busy-ness of school, church and life that is going to kick up again, i just wanted to ask you all to take a step back for a minute and just remember Andy.  remember who he was and what he stood for.  and with that, lets also humbly look at our own lives; with the little time that God has given us on His earth, are we using everything for the building of God's kingdom with love, sacrifice, faith and hope...lets pray that we'll never forget those who have come before us and learn from them in showing the world God's glory

  • HAPPY NEW YEAR ROOTS!
Wow I can not believe that we are half way done with our junior year. Anyways, as many of you are home and relaxing with family and friends and looking foward to 2007, I hope that in this new year we will grow deeply in love with God and experience the riches of His grace. I know that many of us had a rough semester with harder classes and harder schedules and way more serving, but I hope we can remember to look foward at this new year with a clear and better perspective; to not become bitter when the sacrifice becomes great and to remember that our labors are not in vain. It is so amazing how God is able to redeem even time by restoring our wasted years... lets not let 2007 become a wasted year but one that is filled with so much more of God. After all, we are almost done with our college career... let us make the most of our numbered days here. Love you all so much! GO BLUE and God bless :)

  • New Year's Eve. New Beginnings. New Hopes. New Ideas. New Journeys.

    New Creations.

Let's pray for a greater transformation by the reNEWing of our minds. There is a great year ahead, and we want to soak up all that we can get out of it! Openness, humility, willingness, availability, opportunities, and initiative; may we not be lacking in any of these as we begin the New Year.

There will be new commitments; some will fly, others will be forgotten. Lets's pray that each will bring us one step closer to God's heart, whether we succeed or fail, for God does not just look at how good we are at keeping commitments, but also, and more heavily the measure of our faith when we make them.

For 2007, let's believe for (a) change. Ask, and ye shall receive.

  • Dear Roots,

This is Esther; grannet's roommate in case you don't know me.  I've noticed so many of you guys have not left your names...keke...like being anonymous, don't you?  Well, I don't, so I have chosen to tell ya'll who I am right off the bat.

Break has been good, too good that I don't want it all too pass so quickly...keke.  Alas, 2nd semester looms near and cannot be avoided.

I am both excited for the rest of our break and am also looking forward sooo very much to next semester.  I believe many good and perfect things will come from it so long as we remain in Christ.

I don't have much to say except that I would like to share some verses that have been meaningful to me when I pray:

"Love one another.  As I have loved you, so you must love one another.  By this all men will know that you are my disciples, if you love one another." (John 13; v. 34-35)

"Do not let your hearts be troubled. Trust in God; trust also in me.  In my Father's house are many rooms; if it were not so I wuld have told you.  I am going there to prepare a place for you." (John 14:1-2)

    Finally,
"For physical training is of some value, but godliness has value for all things, holding promise for both the present life and the life to come." (1 Timothy 4:8)
Hope ya'll have Happy New Year's and see you back in the deuce!
